Tensions in the region have been high since Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip and clashing with Hezbollah on the border with Lebanon, threatening the already troubled West Bank to become a "third war front," according to analysts.

Tension in the West Bank has escalated significantly in recent days, with bombings, arrests and attacks.

As the Israeli army prepares for a ground campaign in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank witnessed incursions and arrests by Palestinian youths, resulting in 5 casualties.

Israeli forces also raided and carried out an air strike on a Palestinian refugee camp in the West Bank, while the army declared a state of high alert, stressing its readiness to thwart attacks, according to his statement.

Israeli artillery also targeted the Al-Ansar Mosque in the middle of the Jenin camp in the West Bank with an aerial bombardment, which Israel claimed hit a cell of Palestinian factions that was planning an operation, which led to the death of dozens of unidentified young men because they had turned to pieces.

In addition to a series of attacks carried out by settlers in Nablus in the northern West Bank, where they burned a mosque in the town, shot at safe houses and burned parked vehicles without fire trucks being able to enter the area to extinguish fires.

The total number of victims has increased since the seventh of October to 90 victims in the West Bank alone.

The West Bank is home to a complex mix of hillside towns, Israeli settlements and military checkpoints that cut ties between Palestinian communities.

Analysts say one of Israel's concerns in the West Bank IS attacks carried out by Palestinians.

According to UN records, the number of Palestinians who died in the West Bank from the beginning of the year to the seventh of October exceeded 220, while at least 29 Israelis were killed.
