German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the Corona virus behaves differently and becomes more virulent in low temperatures.

On Monday, Merkel added that Germany had to move to impose new restrictions on public life to protect its health system.

And she continued at a press conference: "We cannot allow this rapid spread of the virus to burden our health system," noting that the number of people being treated in intensive care units due to Corona has doubled in the past ten days.

From Monday, Germany began implementing the partial lockdown measures announced by the chancellor last week, with the aim of containing the outbreak of the epidemic, which will take an entire month.

The data of the German Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed that the number of new confirmed cases of corona in the country increased by 12097 in the last 24 hours, to 545027 in total, with 49 new deaths recorded, raising the total number of deaths to 10530.
