The Belarusian Interior Ministry reported that unknown assailants targeted a police station in the capital Minsk with three Molotov cocktails at dawn today, Tuesday.

The ministry explained that the attack took place at five in the morning, and that one of the bottles hit a police bus, which led to its ignition.

This comes against the background of the confrontations that have been going on for more than two months between the security forces and the protesters demanding the departure of President Alexander Lukashenko after they considered his victory in the presidential elections on August 9 as a "fraud."

On Monday, the Interior Ministry warned that the protests are turning towards more radicalization, and expressed its willingness to use combat weapons to confront them if necessary.
