According to the famous Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Paris Saint-Germain star received an official offer from the leader of the Saudi clubs, with a value of more than 400 million euros as an annual salary (this amount represents twice what the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo receives with the Saudi club Al-Nasr).

It's a huge amount of money that seems hard to turn down, but the World Cup winner is not willing to do it, Romano said, adding: "His absolute priority is to stay in Europe."

Although this news is good for Barcelona fans who hope to return their son to "Camp Nou", Fabrizio pointed out an important point, that any contract for the Argentine star must be commensurate with the complex rules of fair financial play that Barcelona must deal with.

The Guardian newspaper earlier quoted Barcelona Vice President Rafa Yusti as saying that the club is in contact with Messi's representatives about the possibility of returning to the Catalan club.

Messi left Barcelona in August 2021, after the two parties failed to extend the contract due to the financial restrictions of the Spanish League and the club's crisis, which made him move to Saint-Germain as a free player.

According to the French "Foot Mercato" network, Leo is ready to make clear financial sacrifices in order to facilitate his return to Camp Nou.
