The English club Manchester United, headed by Joel Glazer, the CEO of the angry club crowd, apologized for several recent mistakes made by the club's management, which have infuriated the masses, most notably in the recently cancelled European Super League competition.
"I apologize for the mistakes made when we initially agreed to join 11 other leading European clubs in supporting the new competition, before we quickly withdrew our support," the Manchester United Club's chief executive said in a statement published on the Manchester United Club's official website.
He added, "I want to assure you that my family and I are deeply interested in Manchester United and feel a deep sense of responsibility to protect and strengthen its long-term strength, while respecting its values and traditions."
He continued, "Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important tournaments, playing fun football with a team made up of the best players and some of the best local talent in the world. Under Ollie's leadership, we feel we are on the right track. "
Glazer added, "He will react willingly and publicly to the soccer-led vision recently announced by the UK government, aimed at putting fans at the heart of the game and ensuring that their interests are advanced and protected," adding that
He will meet personally with the fans' association as soon as possible after the end of the season as part of a dialogue process.
He completed, "We also recognize the importance of including the concerns of fans and football in key decision-making processes at every level of the club, and we are open to constructive discussions on how to promote this principle."
He concluded, "We recognize that we will need to significantly increase investment in Old Trafford and our training complex to ensure that club facilities remain among the best in Europe."
