English club Liverpool came out of the eight for the UEFA Champions League, in their negative tie, on the evening of Wednesday, 14 April, before Spanish Real Madrid.

The play-off meeting between the two teams ended with Real Madrid winning the Santiago Bernabeu by three goals to one.

The Reds were unable to shake the Royal Club's net by a goal in an Enfield match, despite having a full set of stars led by trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Ferminio.

In that way, Real Madrid qualified for the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, meeting with Chelsea, the Englishman who had overcome Porto's Portuguese hurdle in the quarter-finals.

Real Madrid are scheduled to face Chelsea in two games on April 28 and May 4.
