For the first time since 1976, Club Moludia Algiers won the qualification paper for the quarter-final of the AFC Champions League by returning with a precious equaliser from
Tunisia in front of Al-Raghi. In spite of a major victory over Senegal's Tongheath 4-1 at the Cairo International Stadium, Zamalik and Summer left the competition. With the curtain on the group stage, the quarter-final draw will take place on 30 of the current month. The Arab League will be represented in this competition by five teams.
The promotion of the fifth title in the competition is given by the group's final ranking of 11 points in front of Al-Uludiyah II, 9 points in favour of Al-Uludiyah II, 8 points in favour of the third team and 4 points in favour of Tungith IV.
In contrast, this is the first time that the "dean" of Algerian clubs has reached the eight, since he was crowned title in 1976. The Al-Shenawah team met under the supervision of coach Abdul Qadir Al-Amrani, who had resigned days earlier.
After taking the curtain for the group stage, Simba Tanzanian and the Egyptian native qualified for the first group, the South African Mamelodi Sundawns and the Algerian youth of Plouzdad for the second, Aloudade and Kaiser Cheeves for the third, and the regiment and birth of Algeria for the fourth.
The quarter-final draw will be held on 30 April, with the play-offs to be played on 14 and 15 May and the semi-final on 21 and 22.
The semi-finals are played on 18 and 19 June and the semi-finals on 25 and 26 June, while the final is held on 17 July.
