The press service of the Russian "Vostochny" space airport announced that preparations are underway at the airport to launch a new missile into Earth orbits.
In a statement issued by the service, "The experts in the technical complex at Vostochny Airport are preparing the necessary technological equipment to supply the accelerator unit Frigate with fuel. Electrical testing of the unit is also carried out at the airport's assembly and test center."
The statement added, "On Monday, November 2, Vostochny Airport received the equipment that combines the accelerator unit Frigate with the missile, which will transfer it to space, and on Wednesday, this equipment will be removed from the containers and installed in the required place."
The statement indicated that the aforementioned preparations are being made in preparation for launching a Russian Soyuz-2.1b missile into Earth orbits, and the "Frigate" unit that will be installed on this missile will contribute to the delivery of 36 OneWeb satellites to its space orbit.
And "Vostochny" is an airport for launching space missiles located in the Russian Far East, built by Russia to dispense with the "Baikonur" base from which missiles are launched in Kazakhstan, and the first launch of it was carried out in 2016.
In June last year, experts began working on the second phase of the airport’s expansion and development to be able to launch new types of missiles.
