Time after time, the frequency of violent attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank is rising significantly, according to activists. Palestinian reports said that a group of Jewish settlers launched an attack on residents with stones and iron rods in the town of Hawara, which resulted in the injury of more than 40 Palestinians last week.

Similar attacks were repeated in East Jerusalem and elsewhere in the West Bank during the same week. "Settler violence has become part of the daily life of Palestinians, as we see in these intense attacks, which have taken place in the last few weeks,"said Dror Sadot, a spokeswoman for the Israeli human rights organization B'tselem.

The northern West Bank area is home to a number of settlements inhabited by ultra-Orthodox Jews, who launch attacks to intimidate Palestinians by vandalizing their property.

"B'tselem has documented hundreds of cases in which settlers threw stones at cars, property and Palestinians, and we saw fires and damage to olive trees during the harvest season,"Sadot said. Critics of Israel accuse its government of turning a blind eye to such attacks, at a time when it is violently confronting Palestinian demonstrators.

"Israel can prevent settler violence, but it is unwilling to and vice versa. "Israel is funding these outposts and settlements. About 500 thousand Jewish settlers live in about 130 settlements in the occupied West Bank.

In response to these statements, the Israeli forces said that they work at all times to maintain law and order and"prevent violations of the law," as they claim.

"The IDF is required to act to stop incidents of violation of the law involving Israeli civilians, with a focus on violent incidents or incidents directed against Palestinians and their property,"the IDF said. However, Sadot is convinced that"these settlers are not bad apples, as the state would like to portray them, they are another arm of the state".
