After a rare indictment in this very sensitive dossier, Sweden's judicial authorities said Tuesday that they would try a former official of the Iranian regime, for his supposed role in part of "mass executions" of opponents ordered by Khomeini in the summer of 1988

Swedish judicial authorities have announced that, starting on 10 August, they will try a former Iranian official for involvement in "mass executions" of opponents ordered in the summer of 1988 by Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic. According to the accusation, Hamid Nouri (60 years old), then the Deputy Prosecutor General of Kohrdasht prison in the Iranian city of Karj, is being prosecuted for "war crimes and murder" under the universal jurisdiction of the Swedish judiciary on these charges.

It is reported that the trial will begin on August 10 in Stockholm and should end in mid-April 2022.

It should be noted that Nouri is currently targeted at about 30 complaints by civilian parties, who are victims, witnesses or relatives of victims. He was arrested in November 2019 at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport while visiting Sweden, where he has been subject to temporary detention.
