Facebook announced that it will start blocking ads that discourage people from vaccination, and that it has launched a new media campaign for influenza vaccination.

The company said that "advertisements that support or oppose legislation or government policies about vaccines, including the (Covid-19) vaccine, will remain permitted."

She noted that "the imposition of the new policy will take place during the next few days."

And she continued: "Facebook, which has come under pressure from lawmakers and public health groups to suppress anti-vaccine content and misinformation on its platform, said that the Corona vaccine will not be available for some time, as the epidemic has highlighted the importance of preventive health behaviors.

The rules of the social media platform prohibit advertisements that contain misleading information about vaccines, but they allowed ads expressing opposition to vaccines, in the event that the latter contained "false allegations."

For his part, the director of public policy for "Facebook", Jason Hirsch, said, "The company believes that users should be able to express such personal views, and that more strict censorship may push people hesitant about vaccines towards the anti-vaccination camp."
