At the beginning of his meeting with US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the NATO leaders summit in Madrid, Turkish President Ragab Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that his country was continuing its efforts to resolve the grain export crisis resulting from the Ukrainian crisis by pursuing a "balanced policy."

The Turkish president said: "We continue our endeavours to resolve the grain crisis with a balanced policy and hope to reap its fruit."

Two days ago, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chawusoglu announced that Ankara was continuing its efforts with the United Nations to resolve the grain crisis caused by the Ukrainian crisis.

Western countries accuse Russia of preventing Ukrainian grain shipments at Black Sea ports, while Moscow insists that Ukraine has mined ports, making shipments impossible.

Earlier in June, Russian President Vladimir Putin said there were no barriers to exporting grain from Ukraine. Ships carrying wheat will be able to leave the Black Sea without any problems if Kyiv clears the ports of mines it planted.
