Fuding (福鼎市) is a town in Ningde Prefecture, at the northern end of Fujian, is a charming town known for its lush greenery and rich cultural heritage. The most famous place in Fuding is Taimu Mountain, which is famous for its strange rocks and rich vegetation.

Fuding is an important area for tea production in Fujian County, as it is one of the ten largest governorates (cities) producing tea in China, Chinese white tea home, and the cradle of white tea in the world.

Tea companies and tea farmers in Fuding, are the most wonderful people with their abilities as they bear to live in a high temperatures, so they can intensify and processing tea harvesting to supply the market.

In 2024, the total value of tea production in Fuding City reached about 15.518 billion yuan, an annual increase of 3.4 %.

With the value of a brand of 7.066 billion yuan, Fuding White Tea ranked fourth in terms of the brand of tea in China in 2024, and it was among the top ten for 15 consecutive years.

Fuding History

Fuding county was established during the Qing Dynasty in 1739 AD.

It was promoted to county-level city status in 1995. With a population of 553,132 in 2020.

The city is mountainous and has a good deal of seacoast. Fu’an City lies to the west and Xiapu County to the south. North and east lie counties in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. Territorial area is 1,526 square kilometres (589 sq mi), or 14,957.7 square kilometres (5,775.2 sq mi) when including sea area.
