Wall Street's S&P 500 hit a record closing high on Friday after investors brushed aside doubts about progress in US-China trade talks.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 5.9 points, or 0.02 percent, at 27,668.70. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 7.90 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 3,093.08.

The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 40.80 points, or 0.48 percent, at 8,475.31.

The three indexes ended the week higher with the Dow rising 1.2 percent, the Nasdaq 1.1 percent and the S&P 0.8 percent.

The Nasdaq posted their sixth straight week of gains, while the S&P climbed for the fifth straight week.
