On Wednesday evening, several areas in the Gaza Strip witnessed an atmosphere of celebration and optimism with the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel.
A large number of Palestinians came out in the neighborhoods of the Strip to celebrate the agreement, which will put an end to the difficult days that resident lived as a result of the recent escalation, which began on October 7, 2023.

Videos posted on social media showed Palestinians of various age groups holding the Palestinian flag and chanting celebratory slogans.
One of the citizens said:” This Is The Sweetest Day, this is a great victory, this is a Victory Day, “and another stated:”this day represents a great achievement and we hope that this war will end forever”.
US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Wednesday evening that an agreement had been reached on the hostages in Gaza.
An American source also revealed that the US President-elect’s envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, informed several Arab countries of the completion of work on a deal to end the war in Gaza.

Hamas, for its part, said on Wednesday evening that the ceasefire agreement with Israel “is a watershed station of the conflict”.
Immediately after the announcement of the ceasefire agreement, Hamas issued a statement saying: “the agreement to stop the aggression on Gaza is an achievement for our people, our resistance, our nation and the free world, and it is a watershed station of the conflict with the enemy, on the way to achieving the goals of our people in liberation and return”.

She added:”This agreement comes, out of our responsibility towards our patient people stationed in the Gaza Strip, to stop the Zionist aggression against them, and to put an end to the waterfall of blood, massacres and the war of extermination to which they are subjected.
She continued: “We express our appreciation and thanks for all the honorable official and popular positions that stood in solidarity with Gaza, stood with our people, and contributed to exposing the occupation and stopping the aggression, Arab, Islamic and international.

Hamas concluded by saying: “special thanks to the brothers mediators, who made a great effort to reach this agreement, especially Qatar and Egypt.
