In a historic move, President Donald Trump signed an executive order today establishing the United States Space Force as a separate branch of the military. This development marks a significant milestone in the country’s space exploration and defense efforts.
The new branch will be headed by General David D. Thompson, who has been appointed as the first Chief of Space Operations. The Space Force will be responsible for organizing, training, and equipping space forces to protect U.S. interests in space and to deter aggression from adversaries.
