According to Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, in recent days, the US administration has repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to NATO, the transatlantic relationship, and European allies. “This is what really counts to me,” he added.

Dragone emphasized that NATO has robust defense plans, and the Alliance is working to ensure that it has the necessary capabilities to deter and, if necessary, defend each other.

“If at some time in the future, there will be movements of US troops around or out of Europe, what I am absolutely certain about is that everything will continue to be done in coordination, among all 32 Allies,” he said.

The Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee added that the priority will be to maintain a stable troop presence and readiness so that the level of security, defense, and deterrence remains the same as it has been for the past 75 years.
