Trump Signs Executive Order to Eliminate Education Department

Date:

On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order targeting the elimination of the U.S. Education Department. This move aligns with his administration’s broader efforts to reduce federal oversight in education and shift responsibilities to state governments.

In a separate development, a federal judge has demanded that the administration provide detailed information about deportation flights to El Salvador or formally invoke a “state secrets” claim. The Justice Department has pushed back, arguing that such demands infringe on the executive branch’s authority over national security and foreign policy.

Meanwhile, Trump’s border czar reported a total of 40,000 immigration-related arrests since the president took office, highlighting the administration’s aggressive stance on immigration enforcement.
